As the year 2022 is soon coming to an end, we have decided to showcase the best bits from the past year and show what we got up to.
This year has been a busy one for us at Liberty Apps! We are kicking off our round up with our sponsored footballers from Chorley Women FC. Liberty Apps have been sponsors for two consecutive seasons, sponsoring two players each time. We are proud to sponsor hard working, determined women in football and with our sponsorship contribution this allows our players to travel to away matches, purchase player kits and training gear, pay referees for each match and hire a pitch. Our sponsorship covers the costs of our two players at Chorley Women, with the current economic climate Liberty Apps knows our support is particularly important and we find it meaningful for the community as it is likely without the money, the players would be unable to afford to play.
Over the year we attended a lot of events, to name a few: Liberty Apps CEO, Steve Hilton visited Hathershaw College in March to work with students and present a talk on future possibilities, the use of technology and potential prospects for students interested in working in the tech field. Hathershaws ICT Curriculum Leader, Fida Rehman applauded Steve on his time with the students saying “feedback from the session was excellent, [the] relevance of your talk in relation to what the students are currently studying really brought the key concepts to life”. The Year 10 students experience with Steves talk “provided an opportunity for students to appreciate how their learning can be applied to a working environment”.
Another great achievement Liberty Apps made this year was being on the judging panel and attending the UK Business Tech Awards in London in October. Steve alongside four other tech workers had the amazing opportunity to decide which businesses would achieve this years awards and to present the awards to the chosen winners.
Later in the year a big event for Liberty Apps was the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. This three day event was to showcase many countries and companies efforts to making cities more smart, environmentally friendly and green for citizens. For full day details of what we got up to make sure to head to our social media platforms! This event allowed us to meet like minded business people and to start international networking with small and larger scale companies. From the new knowledge and experience in Barcelona, Liberty Apps CEO went on to present a talk on “How Smart Are Cities” with Mancunian non-for-profit ‘Technically Speaking’. A new, free to attend meet up event to talk and explore everything data, tech, UX/UI and analytics.
Working with bigger, well known, worldwide brands is a huge recognition for Liberty Apps and the quality of our work as earlier in the year we worked with Adidas to create an app for their event. This was a massive step up for Liberty Apps to be working with such a renowned company and a great way to continue the year strong.
As a business we have had great moments this year and those mentioned above are the brief round up of some of the most memorable moments.
